| If you have received technical
upgrade, install the upgrade immediately per the instructions sent with the
upgrade.
The upgrade procedure will be automated after the new version of
FC32.exe is installed in your Flow Consultant working directory. The
procedure does not modify any installation files or modify any
registry keys.
In a networked environment, all users with shared access to Flow
Consultant Databases must be upgraded simultaneously. Do not hesitate
to contact your corporation's computer systems support technician for
assistance if you are not comfortable with the upgrade procedure.
Failure to maintain current updates may negate your
contract year eligibly.
Upgrade Installation Notes
For every database opened after you have installed your technical
upgrade, the upgrade database screen
will appear. Database structure information will be displayed on the
screen for informational purposes. You will be returned to either the
Main Menu or the
File Open screen after upgrade is
completed, depending on which screen tried to open the out of date database.
You will be prompted with suggestions on how to proceed in the event your
database fails to upgrade. Upgrade failure can be caused by neglecting
upgrade versions.
Before upgrade is performed, a backup copy of your previous database is
stored in the Flow Consultant working directory. The backup will be
named to correspond to the previously installed version number. To
rollback the upgrade, restore the previous version of FC32.EXE and rename
the corresponding database as FC32.MDB.
On occasion, a revision number may be skipped. In order to maintain
release integrity, we reverse the right to reject any release candidate for
additional testing.
Important Note: Flow
Consultant versions prior to Version 4.0 are no longer supported as the
distribution time has expired for single user licenses. Customers
wishing to upgrade to 32 bit versions may Contact
Us for pricing.
Version 3.0 database may be imported record by record or converted in
bulk by special request. Refer to the documentation for
LastFile for more instructions. |
